Lee Thompson Committed Suic*de After Embracing Yoruba ?

Hollywood Actor Lee Thompson Young, yesterday committed suic*de in his apartment by shooting himself.

An E online reporter is accusing Nigerian language(yoruba) which he called a religion as the only reason behind Lee's suic*de.

According to the E reporter...
"The Rizzoli & Isles star, who was 29 at the time of his death, "didn't drink or party," says a source, "He was the opposite.

Lee loved to travel and was always the first to tell everyone to take a breath and enjoy the beauty of life." He was always "gentle and unassuming," despite his early success, and didn't have the typical "look-at-me" attitude.

That said, those close to him noticed things "really changed" a few years ago when he began practicing Yorùbá, an Africa-based religion which has a saying, "iku ya j'esin" meaning "death is preferable to ignominy."

Some have questioned whether this means that suicide is an acceptable way to preserve personal or family honor in the face of public shame.

However, Yorùbá culture icon and Chief Priest of Osogbo, Araba Ifayemi Osundagbonu Elebuibon, told newsmen earlier this year that the religion "[does] not support suicide. Their belief is that if somebody commits suic-de, they will be punished in the hereafter."

The Famous Jett Jackson star "took [his religion] to the next level and started wearing white all of the time," says a source, adding, "This religion was everything to him."

Although he reportedly took a break from practicing Yorùbá, he recently returned to the religion. Just before his death, he visited a small village in Africa for something reportedly related to the religion.

The Vision is to raise children in true Christian school where school fees is not automatic high grade for pupils.

Producer/Director

                                                      INTRODUCTION:
                                       ACTING—THE NEED FOR TRAINING
It is public knowledge that almost everybody in the world loves one form of entertainment or the other and practically everybody would like to be a super-star in one form of entertainment  or television and radio related profession. Many wish to also become writers. Out of the mass that dream to become film, television and radio super-stars, just a few achieves this great fit while many of these “dreamers” started and ended those dreams in church drama and choir groups, some others only practised such talents in schools drama, debates and music groups.
Some others take it further and start attending auditions. While just a few succeeded in auditions, some give up and face other things after spending money and time in rain and sun from one place to the other in the name of attending auditions without success.
What many who did not succeed through audition did not know was that those who succeeded through auditions were just lucky because somehow they matched the description of the character the director was looking for hence, their selection. This level 0f luck mostly happens in acting and sometimes presentation. therefore it is important to state here that no matter the talent, training is mandatory for any aspiring actor because acting is a professional field. Even those that were lucky to fall within the range of the character the director was looking for will definitely go through training no matter how short or the method the director use whether through rehearsals, formal classroom work or on set.
This book therefore provides all basic and necessary information for fresh and aspiring actors. It is also important to note that technical terms are often used in motion picture production and those terms are listed and explained in this book.
     ACTING—THE NEED FOR TRAINING
Because many people think that nit is how rough, rude, arrogant, talking and beautiful or handsome they are that will qualify them to become actors so they should be given the role of bad guys and some other people thinks that because they are quiet in nature or well behaved, they should be chosen for role of good people, it is important to state clearly that, that is not true and can never influence the director during casting. An actor is an actor no matter the background of the character. Those aspiring to be actors should first know how and what it takes to be called an actor before thinking about roles even when it is also career suicidal for even a trained actor to be one patterned.
It is also important to note that  some aspiring actors will simply go and register themselves with a branch of Actor’s guild and association and start to parade themselves as actors which they are not. Actors guild and association are for trained and practising actors and not for aspiring actors. A man walked into my office one day and introduced himself as an actor and a task force chairman of a branch and that he wants to be a cast in one of the T V soaps I produce, because of his arrogance, I asked him to explain “continuity” and “mannerism” for me, he said that continuity is to start from where you stopped and mannerism is the way an actor acts”, that answer was totally wrong and questioned his claim but I simply told him to  train himself to be An actor before looking for guild to join.
It is only in the entertainment industry that people think that they can wake up and start practising and such people always end up the first thing at last and most times quit.
Film and television industry in many countries with good or growing economies in the world is always ranked between first to fifth largest employers of labour so I wonder why anyone would wake up and think that he/she can jump inside and start practising. Lawyers goes to the university, the law school before becoming members of Bar associations, Doctors, Bankers, Engineers and other professionals goes through some academic process before practising, even artisans like bricklayers, electricians, mechanics, shoemakers etc all get trained.
Therefore it is important for anyone that want to do entertainment business whether as a producer, director, script writer, costumiers, cameraman, make-up artist, production manager etc to have some level of training either as a field apprentice or through an academic program.
To be contd.....

Admission is ongoing@

IMAX set to build first theatre in Nigeria

This is indeed cheering news for movie buffs as entertainment giant IMAX, is poised to build its first theatre (cinema) in Nigeria soon.

Mr. Giovani Dolci, IMAX’s Vice President for Theatre Development in Europe, Middle East and Africa disclosed this laudable initiative during a recent visit to Nigeria courtesy of Mr. Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima, a major stakeholder in the Nigerian film industry.
While on the two-day visit, Giovanni and excited Chima who was accompanied by his legal adviser Mr. Biola Ladipo, boss of Screen Outdoor Open Air Cinema (SOOAC) and associate Mr. Hope Obioma Opara, President of Eko International Film Festival met with the Nigerian Bank of Industry at their Lagos office. They were welcomed by Mrs. Cynthia Uche Nwuka, Mr. Okechukwu Madu and Mr. Lawrence A. Ewah. The Bank of Industry is investing millions of dollars in the sustainable development of the Nigerian film industry with the co-funding of the film adaptation of the award winning novel “Half of A Yellow Sun” of famous Nigerian female novelist Chimamanda Ngozi-Adichie to be released before Christmas.
They are also financing the building of the new movie theatres (called cinemas in Nigeria) and launching the largest distribution network for Nollywood with over 10, 000 sales outlets for Nigerian movies on DVD.
The bank also co-sponsored the launching of Chima’s nationwide Screen Naija One Village, One Cinema Project taking cinemas to communities in both the urban and rural areas in all the local government areas of Africa’s most populous nation with over 160 million people.
Mr. Dolci also met with other stakeholders in the Nigerian film industry, including Mr. Femi Odugbemi, CEO of Dvworx and Co-founder/Festival Director of the annual iRepresent International Documentary Forum and Patrick Lee, the General Manager of Ozone Cinemas in Lagos. Then he visited Ozone, Silverbird and Genesis Deluxe cinemas all located in Lagos and scheduled to also visit the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra, Ghana before returning to London.
“The first IMAX Cinema in Nigeria and likely also the first in West Africa will be built in Festac, one of the most urbanized towns in the Amuwo Odofin local government area of Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria and the most densely populated state in the country.
“Lagos has the biggest economy in West Africa and is the hub of the booming entertainment industry,” said Chima at the preliminary meeting of Dolci with Comrade Ayodele Adewale, the Executive Chairman of the Amuwo Odofin Local Government at their secretariat in Festac.”
The first IMAX Theatre in Nigeria is going to be ready before next Valentine and projected to attract over 500, 000 people weekly from all the communities in the Amuwo Odofin local government area and nearby towns.

Nigerians Are Angry Over Adeboye’s 3-km Long Church Auditorium

Nigerians Are Angry Over Adeboye’s 3-km Long Church Auditorium. According to Lookman, Adeboye should rather build a three-kilometre farm land and employ a million unemployed youths in Nigeria instead of wasting money on a building.

The announcement last Saturday by the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye that the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, would build a three kilometre long auditorium in Nigeria has triggered outrage among Nigerians who call the humongous investment a waste and another cofirmation that Nigerian churches are veering off the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Adeboye said that the new auditorium which would be built at the mission’s camp ground at km 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway would also be three kilometres wide. This will make the auditorium a humongous 9km square auditorium, and one of the top ten churches in the world in area size.

But not long after the announcement was made public on www.pmnewsnigeria.com that Nigerians reacted angrily on social media with many describing churches in the country as business centres.

According to Lookman, Adeboye should rather build a three-kilometre farm land and employ a million unemployed youths in Nigeria instead of wasting money on a building.

Nollywood Actors turned Pastors

Some and actress have had a fair share of the fast superstar life, and today profess to live for Christ.

Eucharia Anunobi
Probably, the most publicised conversion to Christ is that of Eucheria Anunobi. The actress fondly called UK by her friends has been the subject of various controversies and scandals, topmost of which bordered around her relationships, broken marriage and eventually her demand for her ex-husband to keep providing for the only son of their union, whom she has in her custody.
After many years of being in the news for all the wrong reasons, many were surprised when she announced she had given her life to Christ. Few months after the news broke, UK was ordained at the Fresh Oil Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos, as an evangelist.
The ordination was performed by Pastor Psalm Okpe, who anointed the top Nollywood actress, accompanied by other men of God. Some of her close colleagues like Susan Peters and Clarion Chukwurah were on hand to support their friend during the ceremony.
With her ordination, Eucharia can fully preach as a pastor. In fact, it is said that she already counsels youths in the church. This, however, has not taken away some of the traits that made her fans term her “a bad girl” before now. UK is still flashy. Just weeks after the ordination, she got a BMW X5. It is not clear if it’s a gift or a personal purchase.
UK has, however, vowed to use her fame to win souls for Christ. She also assured her teeming fans that she would not abandon her acting career, pointing out that she would be choosier in accepting roles in movies.
Ernest Asuzu
Do you remember Ernest Asuzu? The Imo State- actor was the toast of movie lovers some years ago. He took on the role of the lover boy with great skills, and was indeed the ladies’ man in real life. But not long after, he disappeared from the radar. Before his withdrawal from the movie scene he was engulfed in scandals and controversies, which got him negative media attention.
During his hiatus, it was rumoured that he was down with mental illness while some even said he was dead. However, he resurfaced with a turn-around in more ways than one. In a chat, he told some reporters that the world rejected him, and he had to go back to Christ.
With this discovery, he underwent a period of rebranding and soul-searching, coming out strong as a gospel artiste. He now calls himself El Cream. With his new musical identity, he has released a music video for his single, ‘Go Under’. The new single is coming off his forthcoming album, Return of the Don.
Rita Nzelu
Not much has been heard much from this popular 90s actress for some time. Now, we hear that the former actress, who has been in the UK for over 10 years, has become a born- Christian and has been ordained an evangelist in a UK-based Nigerian church. She is said to be very active in church, as she keeps posting invitation to churches on her social media handle.
She still acts in Nigerian movies shot in London.
Kanayo O. Kanayo
Veteran Nollywood actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo.O.Kanayo, is now a pastor. He has been preaching in some churches in recent times. He is mostly seen teaching the word of God at Christ Mission Worldwide Church, Egbeda.
Though he does not preach there regularly, it is said that the number of church members has grown since the day he first preached there.
That is not the only church he has ministered in at. His face has also graced banners and posters of other churches’ programmes. This recent development comes as a shock to some of his friends and colleagues who know him well.
There are allegations of nefarious activities that go on in his Surulere office. The place is described by some of his colleagues as a magnet for young girls.
Pat Attah
Where is Pat Attah? From what we gather, the once-upon-a-dreadlock- clean cut actor has left his life in the country behind. Pat, currently, is based in Hamburg, Germany and has a preacher. Though he does not preach in churches, he is now very much a born-again.
Many knew him before he left the country to be close to the ladies and in love with the bottle. Today, reading his posts online, one would know things have changed in his life. Pat often uses social network sites including Facebook to deliver his sermon and messages to all who care to read.
Zack Orji
Actor, Zack Orji, has been ordained a full-time evangelist by Bishop Emma Isong of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI). In fact, the veteran actor has engaged in various evangelical activities in Abuja, Nasarawa and Makurdi with the church.
Zack has hardly been linked to any scandal. Only close friends know that he goes to a bar in National Stadium in Lagos, where he usually takes a particular brand of drink. Zack Orji is married to Ngozi Orji and they have three children.
Liz Benson
Elizabeth Benson, popularly known as Liz Benson, began acting when she was just a kid. Her journey to stardom began when she appeared on the set of the popular television soap opera, Fortunes, in 1993. Liz Benson played the part of Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the soap, which ran for about two years on the Nigerian Television Authority network. After that, she acted in various TV series and many movies.
In 1994, her role in Glamour Girls, a very successful home video that focused prostitution as the theme, literally changed her fortunes.
The movie shot her into prominence and gradually she wormed her way into the heart of millions of Nigerian movie fans. As popularity came, so did media scrutiny. Several media reports linked her with different men and she was said to be dating some men in power.
However, after a quiet court ceremony in Abuja, she got married to a Bishop Great Emeya in 2009 at the Rainbow Christian Assembly in Warri, Delta State. She too was ordained an evangelist in the church.
Presently, she runs the church with her husband.
Peter Bunor
This veteran actor missed death by the whiskers last year. It took the intervention of the Delta State Government to keep him alive. The actor suffered a stroke that left him almost totally paralysed. Since he recovered, Peter has turned a new man.
In a chat with journalists, he said: “All I can say now is to thank God that I am alive. I have also given my life to Jesus Christ as you can see that I am now a pastor.”
The man is known to attend Winners Chapel.
Living in Bondage is believed by some sectors to be the film that brought Nollywood to where it is today. The man behind the movie, Kenneth Nnebue, owns Nek Videos.
After two decades of making a success of that two-part Igbo language movie, the pioneer producer disappeared into thin air. The last time he was spotted at a Nollywood function, was in 2009, where he was among the special guests that attended that year’s BOBTV, Africa’s premiere film and television programmes expo, which held in Abuja.
From what we hear, Nnebue has retired to evangelism. Close friends say he is very active in his church.
